Many workshops are very old and want to be renovated on the original basis. The renovation of old workshops and the installation of conductor systems in new workshops will be different. Today, the editor will give you a brief overview.

1.     Overall renovation of the workshop and removal of old equipment

a. Power-off operation

First, coordinate with the relevant departments to ensure that the power supply to the workshop is completely cut off to prevent electric shock accidents during the removal process. You need to confirm that all equipment connected to the old conductor bars has stopped running and is in a safe state.

b. Marking and recording

Before removing the old conductor rails, mark and record the equipment and lines connected to it so that the connection can be accurately restored when the new crane conductor bar is installed. You can take photos or draw sketches to record the layout, connection points, and special requirements of the old conductor bar.

c. Removal of connecting parts

Carefully remove the connecting parts on the old Crane Conductor Rail, such as joints, hanger clamps, fixing bolts, etc. Use appropriate tools to ensure that no damage is caused to surrounding equipment or structures during the removal process.

d. Removal of the power conductor system

Remove the old crane conductor rail system section by section, taking care to avoid unnecessary damage to the workshop facilities. A crane or other lifting equipment can be used to assist in the removal of a longer length of the conductor bus bar.

e. Clean up the site

After the removal is completed, clean up the debris and waste on the site to ensure a clean and tidy workshop environment.

2.     Steps to install the new Conductor bar system

Taking the DMHX-200A-L insulated power rail produced by Demaelectric as an example after the bus bar system is purchased, it is installed according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer.

a. Planning and preparation

Develop an installation plan for the new conductor systems according to the layout of the workshop and equipment requirements. Determine the type, length, installation location, and height of the 4 pole collector assemblies

Prepare the required installation materials and tools, such as sliding wire, hanger, connectors, bolts, wrenches, power tools, etc.

b. Install the bracket

Install the bracket on the track or wall of the workshop according to the installation plan. First, weld or fix the angle steel bracket under the driving track pressure plate at a distance of 1.2; after fixing the angle steel bracket, install the hanger clamp and fixing device under the angle steel bracket; ensure that the installation position of the hanger is accurate and firm, and can bear the weight of the Conductor Bar System.

c. Install the busbar

Install the new conductor systems on the hanger clamps section by section, install the line feeding and aluminum joints of each conductor systems connection point, and then install the joint cover and end cap. Ensure that the connection of the conductor rail is tight and flat, without twisting or deformation.

d. Connect equipment and current collector

Connect the new conductor rail to the equipment in the workshop according to the markings and records. Ensure that the connection is correct, firm, and in good contact to ensure the normal operation of the equipment. For the installation of the current collector, weld the collector bracket to the standard position of the overhead crane, insert the collector into the collector bracket, and adjust the parallel distance between the collector and the busbar.

e. Testing and debugging

After the installation is completed, conduct electrical testing and debugging to check the power supply of the busbar, voltage stability, and the operating status of the equipment. If there is any problem, make adjustments and repairs in time.

3.     Notes

a.     Safety First

Always put safety first during the entire removal and installation process. Wear necessary personal protective equipment, such as safety helmets, safety belts, gloves, etc. Follow safety operating procedures to avoid accidents.

b.     Quality Control

Select reliable quality conductor line products and installation materials to ensure installation quality. During the installation process, strictly follow the installation specifications to ensure the installation accuracy and stability of the power conductor system.

c.  Electrical Specifications

Comply with electrical installation specifications to ensure that the crane conductor rail system is well grounded to prevent electric shock and electrical fire accidents. When connecting electrical equipment, ensure that the wiring is correct and firm and meets electrical safety requirements.

d. Coordination and Cooperation

Coordinate with other departments and personnel in the workshop to ensure that the removal and installation work will not affect the normal production of the workshop. During the installation process, communicate with equipment suppliers and technicians in a timely manner to solve problems that arise.

e. Acceptance and Maintenance

After the installation is completed, conduct strict acceptance to ensure that the installation quality of the Conductor bar system meets the requirements. If the current collector sparks during the commissioning operation, you need to check the rail connection, properly run in the brushes, and ensure a 60% contact area. At the same time, formulate a maintenance plan for the conductor systems, and regularly inspect and maintain the conductor rails to extend its service life.
