[Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 5 September 2024] Malaysian telecom operator CelcomDigi and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Berhad have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together to integrate intelligent capabilities into CelcomDigi's network. Paving the way for an intelligently powered wireless network.
The collaboration will use Huawei's IntelligentRAN solution to integrate intelligence into CelcomDigi's Radio Access Network (RAN) and move towards advanced self-intelligent networks. This includes integrating digital twins for rapid verification of new network capabilities, proactive network management capabilities through predictive analytics, and leveraging multiple support systems to enable business intelligence provisioning and enhance the customer experience.
As networks evolve, network infrastructure becomes more complex, but new intelligent capabilities can significantly simplify operations and improve network productivity.
First of all, the digital twin system can quickly iteratively verify the network configuration policy in the digital twin environment before implementing it in the real network, so as to obtain the optimal policy, so as to accelerate the improvement of network quality at a lower cost, and minimize the impact of service interruption on users.
Secondly, the upgrading of network analysis and decision-making capabilities brought about by the large communication model can realize the prediction of network hidden dangers. Through multi-objective joint analysis and optimization, the network can be actively managed, and the network energy efficiency can be optimized while ensuring customer experience. In addition, the intelligent orchestration of RAN resources will enable more personalized wireless services for customers and inject new momentum into operator revenue growth.
CelcomDigi CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi said, "Malaysia is well positioned to become a regional leader in 5G and intelligence development. To achieve this ambition, we are actively investing in building the most advanced 4G and 5G networks in the country and serving consumers and businesses in the new era of 'digitalization of everything' powered by 5G and intelligence." With strong intelligent technology support, we are confident that we can bring a high-performance 5G network to power Malaysia's digital future."
Simon Sun, CEO of Huawei Malaysia, stressed: "With the advancement of intelligent technology, Malaysia is at a critical juncture in deploying network intelligence. Our vision is to build an intelligent network in Malaysia, and Huawei Malaysia is evolving from an ICT solution provider to a collaborative architecture role for intelligence-driven networks. By partnering with CelcomDigi to deploy IntelligentRAN, we will fully integrate intelligence capabilities across all levels of the wireless network, unlocking significant business value and enabling 5G commercial success."
Under the partnership, CelcomDigi and Huawei Malaysia will also jointly explore the digital transformation of the company's network operations by leveraging the cross-domain data convergence capabilities of Huawei's business platforms to proactively manage the user experience and business lifecycle.
